Equipped and Empowered

Father & Son
Empowering Fathers with EMCC’s “Father-Teen Conflict Resolution” since early 2012, EMCC has run this programme under the auspices of Fathers@Schools and Dads@Communities.

Through our Fathers@Schools and Dads@Communities programmes, we seek to equip fathers with tools that help them step up to take on their important role as fathers in the family.  By creating a safe environment for fathers to reflect, share and lessons and learn from fellows fathers, and trainers alike.

Equipping fathers to better manage and resolve conflicts at home is one of the many courses conducted by EMCC.  With the clear message of bringing home to various segment of society, equipping and training people through workshops are an extension of our core mediation and counselling services. Workshops and public education talks are means by which we reach out to various target groups – families, the community and corporations. We also help to raise awareness of counselling and mediation as an effective means to manage conflicts.

Since the early 1990s EMCC has been conducting mediation and counselling training for government ministries and non-governmental organisations, including the Ministry of Social & Family Development (MSF), Singapore Mediation Centre, Singapore’s Islamic Religious Council, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, the Insolvency and Public Trustee’s Office, Social Service Training Institute (SSTI), the Ministry of Education (MOE), schools and faith-based organisations.

In the next year there will be close to 50 workshops conducted for the community and some 40 workplace wellness sessions for the corporate sector.
