Does your marriage need a recharge?

This workshop – the Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work or Seven Principle Program – is for you! Learn seven foundational yet remarkably effective strategies to enrich your marriage, or revive one that is struggling. Reconnect. Relate. Refocus. Recharge.

A Workshop for Couples

This workshop is for couples who seek to deepen their relationship with each other. It will help you better understand your relationship and teach you ways to foster friendship, trust and intimacy with your partner. It will also teach you ways to navigate or prevent relational conflicts.

WHO is this workshop for?

This psycho-educational workshop is appropriate for couples contemplating engagement, pre-marital couples and couples married for decades.

The workshop is not appropriate for couples with severe relationship distress, significant emotional or physical abuse, serious emotional or mental health problems.

The workshop Programme

The workshop curriculum is based on 40 years of breakthrough research that Dr John Gottman conducted with thousands of couples in the University of Washington, Seattle. Dr John Gottman is world-renowned for his work on marital stability and divorce prediction. One of his most notable experiments is called the Love Lab, where he analysed the way couples create and maintain friendship and intimacy, and how this relates to conflict.

Love Lab

The first step toward improving or enhancing your relationship is to understand what happens when relationships fail. This has been well documented by Dr. John Gottman’s extensive research into couples that were not able to save their marriages. Learning about the failures can prevent your relationship from making the same mistakes – or rescue it if it already has.

In this Workshop, Couples will Learn to:

  1. Develop and deepen their Love Maps (know each other better).
  2. Foster fondness and admiration for each other.
  3. Facilitate turning towards each other to build up each other’s “Emotional Bank Account”.
  4. Accept each other’s influence.
  5. Manage conflicts by solving the solvable problems.
  6. Manage conflicts by overcoming unresolvable gridlock.
  7. Create shared meaning as partners.

Feedback from Participants

“I like how the course is scientific and research driven and not religious, really gave us many wonderful takeaways and self-realisations on things to work on. There are couples who are married for 20 over years at the course too so its heartening to know that we can learn from them, continuously working on our marriage for a long time to come (: Do check it out.” Lyyeow 14 Jan 2017
