We’re excited to share a recap of our recent EMCC-Barclays LifeSkills Event! This event brought together job seekers, those navigating career transitions, and alumni from our previous LifeSkills Programme for an evening of learning, networking, and support. The event provided valuable insights and practical tools for anyone looking to enhance their career prospects and better their mental well-being.
The day kicked off with an engaging panel discussion titled “Explore, Empower & Connect: Navigating the Job Market.” Elaine Tan, Executive Director, EMCC (far left) with our panellists—Kathleen Seah (Career Advisor, Workforce Singapore), Caroline Rogers (Programme Manager, Generation Singapore), Nicole Gollosso (HR Leader, McCann Worldgroup), and Sapna Mathews (Senior Counsellor, EMCC)—offered their expertise on various aspects of career development, from upskilling to maintaining mental well-being during job transitions. Their diverse perspectives and practical advice were especially valuable for those in the midst of a job search or considering a career change.
Following the panel, Nicole Gollosso delivered an inspiring keynote presentation, “Unlocking Opportunities Through Personal Branding.” Nicole shared strategies for standing out in a competitive job market, focusing on how personal branding can open doors to new opportunities. Her presentation resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom were navigating significant career shifts.
Throughout the event, attendees also had the opportunity to explore booths set up by our partners—Workforce Singapore (WSG), Generation Singapore (GenSG), and e2i. These booths provided additional resources and were a great chance for participants to connect with industry experts and peers.
Feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly positive. Geok Link, one of our participants, commented, “I have attended numerous virtual and physical career coaching sessions, seminars, and workshops. Among these, I find that this event stands out for its comprehensive coverage of key topics. It provides invaluable insights into harnessing the power of personal branding to advance our careers and unlock new opportunities. I’m grateful to all the speakers for sharing their valuable experiences and insights.” Another participant, KP, shared, “I enjoyed the event very much and would love to attend more useful events like these.”
We’re grateful to everyone who made this event a success, from our speakers and panellists to our partners and attendees. Your participation and enthusiasm made the event truly special.
