For almost three years, Jun Wei quietly carried overwhelming stress on his own.
The pressure eventually became physical. Anxiety left him constantly nauseous, yet he kept telling himself to simply persevere.
When he finally reached out to EMCC, counselling helped him understand the roots of his struggles, regain confidence, and feel steady again after years of carrying everything alone.
At the time, Jun Wei was between jobs, and subsidy support made it possible for him to continue counselling during a season when he needed it most.

Support accessible counselling through EMCC’s Hope is at Hand Subsidy Fund
Every day, people reach a point where they know they need help, but cost often becomes another barrier.
At Eagles Mediation & Counselling Centre (EMCC), we believe professional mental health support should be within reach when people need it most, not only when they can afford it.
That’s why we’re raising funds through our partnership with Gateway Arts and The Parting Glass to support our Hope is at Hand Subsidy Fund, making counselling more accessible for individuals and families seeking support.
Every donation helps someone take their first step towards healing.
There are two ways you can support EMCC through The Parting Glass:

💙 Sponsor a seat for someone else Your sponsored seat can help someone else experience the show while supporting accessible counselling through EMCC’s Hope is at Hand Subsidy Fund.
Want to give more? You can make a larger donation through “Donate to Event”. Every contribution helps us make professional counselling more accessible to those who need it.
In 2025, EMCC supported 1,053 clients through counselling and mediation—almost double the number from the previous year.
Of these, 690 clients (66%) received subsidy support through our Hope is at Hand Subsidy Fund, ensuring cost did not stand between someone and the help they needed.
Last year’s fundraising production, Third Man Syndrome, enabled many more individuals and families to receive subsidised counselling.
This year, we’re continuing that journey.

Beyond the Stage
Our partnership with Gateway Arts doesn’t end when the curtain falls.
Every performance is accompanied by opportunities for reflection, conversations with EMCC counsellors, and mental health resources for audience members.
For public performances, EMCC is also offering a limited number of complimentary counselling sessions on a first-come, first-served basis to encourage those who may be considering seeking support for the first time.

Jim is the life of the party.
He’s funny, charming, and always knows what to say.
But beneath the laughter lies a struggle that few people see.
Set in the intimate atmosphere of The Blackbird at Gillman Barracks, The Parting Glass is an immersive theatrical experience exploring depression, masculinity, love, and the conversations we often don’t have until it’s too late.
From the team behind Third Man Syndrome and Every Brilliant Thing, the production asks a simple but important question:
How well do we really know the people we love—and what might we be missing when we don’t ask?
This production contains themes of depression and suicide.
Reviewed by psychologists and therapists, the play is not expected to increase suicide risk among young people with lived experience. While some scenes may reflect realities familiar to audiences, certain moments may feel emotionally intense, particularly for parents and caregivers.
Throughout every performance, EMCC counsellors will be present to provide immediate support and resources to audience members who may need them.

After years of silent burnout, Sarah, a 31-year-old teacher, reached her breaking point. As she lay in tears on her sofa, a scary thought crossed her mind, “I wouldn’t mind if I died right now.” Fortunately, counselling pulled her back from the brink.
Since she was unemployed at the time, EMCC’s subsidy support made therapy possible despite her financial struggles. Through her sessions, Sarah found safety, insight, and gradual healing. She shared, “I used to feel overwhelmed just hearing the MRT jingle that reminded me of work. Now, I hear it and I’m okay. That happened to me, but I’m not there anymore.”
Today, she’s preparing to return to work with hope and strength. And she’s sharing more openly about therapy—to help others know they’re not alone either.
